Devotional Thought For Today
Many people today live as if they are the captain of their own soul. They make plans, chase careers, fall in love, and build dreams—and none of that is wrong. But here’s the danger: when we make plans without God, we walk blindly into a future we cannot see.
The Bible says, “In their hearts humans plan their course…” And that’s true—we all do. We make appointments. We build businesses. We think we know what’s coming tomorrow. But life is uncertain. Only God knows the path ahead.
It is the Lord who establishes your steps. Not luck. Not fate. Not coincidence.
You may have faced detours that left you confused. A door closed. A job lost. A relationship broken. But, dear friend, God is not surprised. What may feel like a setback to you may be the very thing God is using to protect you or prepare you.
When I look back over my life, I see how often the Lord redirected me—not always in the ways I wanted, but always in the ways I needed. And He will do the same for you.
So make your plans—but hold them with an open hand. And trust the One who sees the end from the beginning.
He is not just directing your steps. He is walking beside you.
Prayer for June 13, 2025
Lord, I confess I like to be in control. But today, I surrender my plans to You. Establish my steps according to Your will. Redirect what needs to change. Align my desires with Your purpose. I trust that even when I don’t understand, You are leading me in love. Thank You for being the God who sees farther, loves deeper, and guides better than I ever could. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
