Devotional Thought For Today
There is no deeper joy for a father than seeing his child walk in the truth.
You may not be the wealthiest dad on your block. Your name may never appear in lights. But if your son walks in righteousness, if your daughter chooses wisdom over the world — friend, you are rich beyond measure.
Proverbs 23:24 paints a picture not just of a father beaming with pride — but of heaven joining in that celebration. God delights in fathers who passed down not just possessions, but faith. Not just advice, but example.
Maybe your parenting journey hasn’t been easy. You’ve made mistakes. You’ve worried about the choices your kids made. You’ve prayed prayers through tears, asking God to step in when you couldn’t fix it.
But I want you to hear this: God is not finished yet.
The seeds you planted — every bedtime Bible story, every whispered “God has a plan for you,” every moment you chose grace over anger — none of it was wasted. Even if your child has wandered far, it’s never too late for God to write a new chapter. Because we serve a God of restoration, not regret.
And if you’re a son or daughter reading this — call your dad today. Or if he’s gone, live in such a way that his faith lives on through you. Because when you walk with God, you carry your father’s legacy forward.
And God rejoices over that.
Prayer for June 15, 2025
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the fathers who led us, loved us, and lifted us toward You. Bless every dad who feels unseen, uncelebrated, or unsure — remind him that You are pleased when his children walk in Your truth. Heal what’s been broken. Restore what’s been lost. And help us, whether as parents or children, to live lives that bring You great joy.
