Today’s Bible verse – Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV):
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Devotional Thought For Today
Last night, maybe you cried yourself to sleep. Or maybe you scrolled endlessly, numb, hoping something—anything—would pierce the silence of your soul. And now here you are, on June 1, weary before the day even begins.
But here’s the truth heaven whispers into your morning: you are still here because God’s mercy held you through the night.
Lamentations wasn’t written from a mountaintop. It was birthed in rubble. Jeremiah watched his world fall apart—walls broken, temple burned, future uncertain. Yet right in the center of his grief, he makes this bold declaration: God’s compassions do not fail. They are new every morning.
Not recycled mercy. Not leftover grace. New. Like sunrise painting fresh light over old shadows.
That means you don’t have to carry yesterday into today. The shame, the fear, the weight—it’s not yours to bear again. God didn’t just let you wake up. He welcomed you into newness.
So breathe. Let today be your reset. Not because you feel strong, but because He is faithful. His mercy isn’t based on your perfection, but His promise.
You are not forgotten. You are not finished. This very moment—this June 1—is proof: God’s mercy found you again.
Prayer for June 01, 2025
Father, thank You for mercies that meet me fresh each morning. When I feel worn out or overwhelmed, remind me that Your compassion never runs dry. Help me release the burdens of yesterday and trust You fully today. You are faithful, even when I falter. I rest in Your love and begin again—because You are the God of new mornings. In Jesus’ name, amen.
