Today’s Bible verse – Galatians 4:7
“So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
There are chains you can’t always see.
They show up in the way you second-guess your worth, shrink back from prayer, or brace for rejection even when God is drawing you close. These are the remnants of slavery—not to people, but to fear, shame, sin, and the lies that say you don’t belong.
But hear this: You are no longer a slave.
God didn’t send Jesus so you could remain bound by what once owned you. He didn’t rescue you just to tolerate you. Galatians 4:7 declares something radical—you’re not just free, you’re family. You’ve been adopted by the Father, filled with the Spirit, and made an heir with Christ Himself.
Let that truth wreck the walls you’ve built around your heart.
You’re not earning your way in. You’re not hoping for scraps at the table. You’re a son—a daughter—and God has placed His name, His Spirit, and His promises on you. Every time the enemy tries to whisper, “You’re still that failure,” you can respond with heaven’s authority: “No, I’m a child of God—and this isn’t who I am anymore.”
This isn’t religious theory. It’s identity-defining, inheritance-securing, life-rearranging truth. You don’t need to strive for approval you already have. You don’t have to be paralyzed by wounds that Jesus already bore.
So breathe.
God didn’t just set you free from something—He brought you into something: His household, His covenant, His glory. You have a place. You have a future. You have a Father.
And He’s not going anywhere.
Takeaway:
You are not a slave. You are not forgotten. You are a full heir of the living God—seen, chosen, and secure.
Prayer for May 27, 2025
Father, thank You for calling me Your child. Break every lie that tells me I’m still bound, unworthy, or forgotten. Remind me daily that I belong to You—not by merit, but by grace. Help me live from my identity as Your heir, walking in the peace, authority, and love You freely give. In Jesus’ name, amen.
