“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Devotion for May 4, 2025
What does it mean to love God with “all”? Not just a portion, not the leftovers of your day, but the very core of who you are-heart, soul, mind, strength. Jesus isn’t asking for a casual affection or a Sunday-morning nod. He calls you to a love that saturates every thought, every decision, every fiber of your being.
Imagine a musician pouring their entire self into a symphony-fingers, mind, emotion, breath, all in harmony. That’s the devotion God desires: an undivided, wholehearted pursuit. It’s easy to let distractions dilute your love-work, worries, even good things can crowd out the One who deserves your all. But when you choose to love God first, everything else finds its place.
Loving God with “all” means inviting Him into your daily routines, your ambitions, your struggles. It’s trusting Him when obedience costs you something. It’s worshipping when you don’t feel like it. It’s letting His love reshape your priorities, your relationships, your dreams. Today, ask yourself: What part of my heart have I withheld? What would it look like to love God with nothing held back? He’s not after perfection-He’s after your whole heart.
Prayer for May 4, 2025
Father, teach me to love You with everything I am. Remove the distractions that divide my devotion. Ignite in me a passion for Your presence that fills my heart, soul, mind, and strength. Help me surrender every area of my life to You, holding nothing back. May my love for You become the foundation of all I do, today and always. Amen.
