Verse of the day june 17, 2025 — Psalm 34:8
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
Devotional Thought For Today
You’ll never know how good honey is until it hits your tongue. You can read about it, hear someone describe it — but you’ve got to taste it yourself.
That’s what David was getting at in Psalm 34:8. He wasn’t offering a lecture about God — he was offering an invitation. “Come and experience Him. See for yourself just how good He really is.”
So many people know about God — but they haven’t tasted Him. They’ve seen others worship, heard others testify, maybe even memorized Scripture… but they’re still running on empty because they’ve never come close enough to drink deeply of His presence.
But friend, the table is set.
Even if you’re broken. Even if you’re doubting. Even if you’ve been living off religious leftovers or secondhand faith — you’re still invited.
You won’t find His goodness by scrolling through your feed or chasing the world’s version of peace. You’ll find it when you pause long enough to say:
“God, I want to know You for myself.”
And when you do, you’ll realize He’s not distant. He’s not angry. He is good. Better than you imagined. Sweeter than you deserve. Closer than you think.
The only thing He’s waiting on… is you to come and taste.
Prayer for June 17, 2025
Lord, I don’t want to just know about You — I want to experience You. I open my heart to Your goodness. Let me taste the sweetness of Your mercy, the peace of Your presence, the depth of Your love. Thank You for being faithful, kind, and near. I choose to take refuge in You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
