Bible Verse — Proverbs 31:28
“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”
Blessing Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, thank You for the breath in my lungs and the silence of a new morning. Today, May 11th, is set apart—not by tradition, but by the ache and honor that live in the same space when we speak of mothers.
Some are near. Some are memories. Some were never called “Mom,” but they carried others just the same. You see them all. And I’m grateful—so deeply grateful—for the ones who rose when no one clapped, who stayed when leaving would have been easier, who whispered prayers into the dark because no one else knew what the night demanded.
Today, I don’t ask for shallow blessings. I ask for rest—for the woman who’s poured herself out in ten directions and wonders if any of it mattered. I ask for healing—for the heart still waiting on reconciliation that hasn’t come. I ask for laughter—for the mother raising children in a world that rarely says thank you. And for those who feel the hollow of what could have been, wrap them in something stronger than words—wrap them in Yourself.
Holy Spirit, I won’t dress this day up. I won’t make it neat. But I ask You to make it sacred. Mark this day not with sentiment but with substance—with moments where a woman feels seen not just for what she does, but for who she is: Your daughter, fully known, fiercely loved, eternally held.
I trust You with this day, with the weight of it, with the ache and the celebration braided together. Thank You for seeing every unseen act of love and calling it beautiful.
Amen.
