Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving us first—before we ever knew how to love You back. God, those who are reading this prayer today may be carrying wounds from people who didn’t love them well, or burdens from trying to earn love that should have been freely given. But You… You did not wait for us to get it right. You loved us in our mess. You loved us in our fear. You loved us before we ever thought to turn toward You.
Today, God, I lift up the one who feels undeserving of that kind of love. Remind them that Your love is not a transaction—it’s a truth. You are love. And when we receive that love, it changes everything about the way we show up in this world. It breaks the cycle of performance. It heals the ache of rejection. It quiets the fear of abandonment.
Holy Spirit, move through this prayer right now. Let it land like a whisper in the heart of someone who’s been trying to earn what You’ve already given. Let them feel Your nearness—not because of what they’ve done, but because of who You are. Let them know they are safe to rest in Your love, safe to stop striving, safe to be known.
God, I thank You for Your initiating love. I thank You that we don’t have to chase what has already chased us down. You found us. You called us beloved. May we now live in the overflow of that love—not just receiving it, but reflecting it to others.
