Devotion for May 11, 2025
There are days when God’s silence feels like absence. You pray. You wait. And when nothing moves, your heart starts to wonder: Did He forget? Did I miss it? Why is He taking so long?
2 Peter 3:9 meets you right there—in the tension between hope and delay. It reminds you that what feels like slowness is actually mercy. God isn’t stalling. He’s saving.
He’s the Father who sees farther than you can, whose timing is never random but always redemptive. While you’re watching the clock, He’s watching hearts—your heart, your neighbor’s heart, the prodigal’s heart still wandering in the dark. Every second He delays is a second He’s giving someone the chance to come home.
It’s easy to want God to wrap things up—to fix the world, to heal your ache, to return and make all things new. And He will. The promise stands. But His patience is proof of His love, not His absence.
Maybe you’re waiting on a promise right now. Maybe you’ve been asking for breakthrough, rescue, or clarity. And it just hasn’t come yet. This verse gently turns your face toward something deeper: God is not only writing your story—He’s weaving it into His story of redemption. His timeline is bigger than your circumstance. But His care for you is personal, detailed, and unwavering.
So if you’re tired of waiting, take heart: You are not forgotten. You are not overlooked. God is being patient with you, not just others. He’s giving you space to grow, time to turn, and room to breathe in His grace.
Don’t rush past that.
Let His patience steady your heart. Let it fuel your prayers—not just for yourself, but for those who still need to know Him. This isn’t just about delay—it’s about divine mercy at work in real time.
He hasn’t changed His mind. He’s just not finished yet.
Prayer for May 11, 2025
Lord, thank You for Your patience with me. When I get weary in the waiting, remind me that Your timing is love, not delay. Soften my heart to trust You more deeply, and give me eyes to see how You’re working—even in the pause. Use this waiting to shape me, to refine me, and to make me ready for what You’ve prepared. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
